Torbay Brass Band Seeks Sponsor
The band has been a public subscription funded registered charity since its started. It has a very busy diary of events during the year which help the band raise the much needed revenue through concerts or collections made at our outdoor concerts. The hard working committee strive to ensure the band has something on every month to enable us to meet the financial demands such as hire of a bandroom, purchase music, maintenance of instruments and uniforms, insurance and travel to contests when funds permit.
In a time of austerity why should you consider sponsoring us? We are a hardworking group of amateur musicians who through their playing try to keep the proud heritage of brass banding alive in our part of the country. Apart from raising funds ourselves we also support other charitable causes such as Torbay Civic Carol Concert, Help4Heroes, Save the Children, Rotary, Lions, and Children’s Hospice South West. We also hold a music club on a Saturday morning and give free tuition to those wishing to learn to play a brass instrument – all ages are welcome and it is not uncommon to have moms and children learning side by side. Members give up their spare time, music and instruments are provided, and in many cases musical tuition is given to some who due to cut backs and personal circumstances would never have the opportunity to learn to play a brass instrument.
Sponsorship can take many forms and we would be happy to discuss this further with interested parties. Purchase of equipment, help with van hire to move our larger equipment to events, i.e. percussion, to name but two, however, the list is quite extensive.
What is in it for you? Well apart from giving you a feel good factor by helping a local cause! Depending on you involvement for example we could ensure you or your company’s name is featured on all our concerts, regular newsletter with updates on our progress, opportunity for corporate events – we have played a number of these as a full band or a small group. One client used us in 2012 and his stand won first prize with his traditional British theme. You could use the band to support and promote your favourite charitable cause with a concert with either a choir or guest soloists.
We look forward to hearing from you; whether you can offer financial help or you can give up your time even to collect it will all help to keep this band continuing its efforts here in the south west.
